Bread Upon The Waters
Cast your bread upon the waters.
In many days it will return.
For those who watch the wind will not plant.
And those who gaze at clouds will not reap.
You don’t know which way the wind blows.
Or how the unborn child is formed.
So you will never understand the ways
Of God, the maker of all things.
Sow your seed in the morning
And at evening work your hands.
For you don’t know which way will succeed,
Or whether both will be as good.
